Friday at the Fusiliers will be held on Friday 29 April in the function suite of the Fusiliers Museum in Bury Town CentreA unique event in aid of charity will see the much-loved comedian Jimmy Cricket take to the stage with both his son and daughter!

The show at the Fusiliers Museum in Bury Town Centre, Greater Manchester, will not only feature Jimmy, but his daughter, the comedienne Katie Mulgrew, and also his son, former comedian Frankie Doodle – who left the stage for the pulpit and is now Fr Frankie Mulgrew.

Special guest comedian Steve Royle from BBC Radio Lancashire’s Saturday morning show, who many may also recognise from his association with TV funnyman Peter Kay, completes the line-up.

The event at 7.30pm on Friday 29 April is being staged to raise much-needed funds to send sick children on a pilgrimage with the Catholic Church to the famous shrine of Lourdes in the south of France.

Event organiser Dom Hynman said: “I am thrilled to have been able to put together such a wonderful and unique line-up for this event.

“It hopefully will mean we should sell enough tickets to allow a very special young person to be able to travel to Lourdes on this summer’s pilgrimage, which will give them a truly wonderful experience.”

The director of the Salford Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage, Rev Michael Jones, said: “Each year the Children’s and Family group bring a number of very sick children along as part of our pilgrimage.

“Without the funds raised to enable the group to do this, the numbers who are able to come would be significantly reduced. So I encourage many people to support this event, as each young person who is able to come with us has a remarkable and truly uplifting time while at Lourdes.”

Tickets for the event are priced £12 in advance and £13 on the door and are available from the museum in person, on tel: (0161) 763 8950 or via email: enquiries@fusiliermuseum.com
