Jimmy Cricket is returning to the Oswaldtwistle Arts Centre and Theatre

Much-loved comedian Jimmy Cricket is returning to a Lancashire venue after management there could not wait to have him back following a successful visit 12 months ago.

Jimmy was at the Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre and Theatre at the beginning of  2015 to great acclaim.

When he mentioned to Lauren Stirzaker, the events manager at the arts centre, that he could come back again for a repeat appearance, she jumped at the chance and so Jimmy will be there on 6 March.

This time the show will have a different day as, instead of a Saturday evening slot, the show will be scheduled for a family friendly Sunday afternoon matinee slot (2.30pm).

Jimmy has had quite a year since he was last in Accrington – at the end of 2015 he supported the iconic Osmonds on a national UK tour of a Christmas show, as well as receiving a papal knighthood from the Catholic Church – the highest honour that can be awarded to a lay person.

Lauren said: “It is a thrill to be welcoming back someone of Jimmy’s standing to the Oswaldtwistle Arts Centre, especially after he went down so well last year.

“The Sunday afternoon performance time is designed to appeal to as broad a potential audience as possible. So there is still time to squeeze in your regular Sunday activities, before ensuring the rest of your Sunday is one of relaxation and fun while watching Jimmy.”

Jimmy commented: “It is always a privilege to be invited back to a venue so soon after having a great show there and so it is wonderful that I am heading back to the Oswaldtwistle Arts Centre in March.

“I am also delighted that ticket prices remain really affordable, as this means a family can come and have a live performance experience instead of the cinema and support their local venue at the same time.”

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for U16s, and are available from the theatre’s box office on 01254 398319 or at www.civicartscentre.co.uk
