Jimmy Cricket enjoyed some “totally unrehearsed, spontaneous jamming” when he performed recently at a show on the Isle of Wight.
The 71-year-old entertainer appeared with Joey And The Jivers, alias The Graduates, on a special cabaret evening at the Shanklin Conservative Club last Saturday (3 June).
Famous Irish funnyman Jimmy also met up with his old friends Melvyn Hayes, Ray Allen (who wrote the popular sitcom Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em) and showbiz journalist John Hannam at The Regal Restaurant.
Jimmy tweeted: “Great night with old friends” and “Great fun totally unrehearsed, spontaneous jamming with @JoeyJivers thanks for a great night boys at The Shanklin Con Club Isle-of-Wight!”
For the younger readers among you, Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em starred Michael Crawford and Michele Dotrice. It was first broadcast in 1973 and ran for three series, ending in 1978 but returning briefly in 2016 for a one-off special.
The series followed the accident-prone Frank Spencer and his tolerant wife, Betty, though his attempts to hold down a job frequently ended in disaster!
