A man has received a special certificate for decades of support for a local carnival – dressed as Jimmy Cricket!
Philip Thomas got the award for his 40 years of contributions to Hayle Carnival at the 2023 event in June.
Hayle is a port town in west Cornwall, about five miles from St Ives.
The St Ives Times & Echo News reported on the carnival award (below).
Famous funnyman Jimmy posted on social media: “Hi folks, what a lovely funny story posted on 23rd June 2023.
“Thank you to The St Ives Times & Echo for covering the article regarding Philip (Thomas) who has been supporting his local Hayle carnival for the last 40 yrs dressed as a tribute act, me!”
Philip is seen receiving the certificate from Hayle Deputy Mayor, Councillor June Lawrenson-Reid.
