Festive fun was had by all when Jimmy Cricket visited the Cambridgeshire town of Wisbech at the beginning of December.

The popular entertainer was there to appear at the Tower Ballroom for two Christmas shows that had been scheduled for the afternoon and early evening.

It was the second successive Christmas visit Jimmy had made to Wisbech.

Both shows for this year’s return visit were packed and alongside Jimmy was the hugely talented instrumentalist Sean Moyes, Jimmy’s wife, the female vocalist May Marion, and the locally based Nine Lives Theatre Company.

The show was produced by Jimmy’s good friends Ian and Michelle Larkin, who runs the Nine Lives Theatre Company.

Jimmy said: “A big thanks to Michelle’s dad for providing overnight accommodation after the show for me and May.”

As this was another hugely popular visit from Jimmy, there is talk of a third appearance in Wisbech from him in the not-too-distant future.

A hardy crowd of hundreds of people braved the wet weather to watch Jimmy Cricket turn on the Christmas lights in the Cambridgeshire town of Wisbech.

Famous comedian Jimmy, along with the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Wisbech (pictured below), formally kicked off the festive season in the town centre.

Jimmy combined this duty with an earlier afternoon show, as both appearances had been organised by his good friends, Ian and Michelle Larkin.

Michelle has recently set up a new performing arts school in Wisbech called the Nine Lives Academy, which is based in a magnificent building called the Institute.

Ian and Michelle decided that if Jimmy was in Wisbech switching on the lights, then he could also headline a Christmas show in the building’s concert hall called the Ballroom. It  also showcased some of Michelle’s talented performers from the Nine Lives Academy.

Jimmy said: “I was pleased to participate in the show, which was a sellout, and it was a great way to start my Christmas performance plans.”

On Tuesday (8 December), Jimmy begins his 15-date Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular tour with the famous Osmonds. More details and the full schedule here.
