‘Please share your memories of Jimmy Cricket’

So kind and generous

Famous funnyman Jimmy Cricket regularly posts jokes on social media to entertain fans and friends.
And here are a few of those the popular Northern Irishman has posted on Twitter recently.
It’s been a tough 12 months for businesses….I’ve just heard the company that makes Alka-Seltzer has been dissolved….the firm that makes food mixers has gone into liquidation…Are you ready for the third?..The shop that sells aqua equipment has just gone under!!!
Don’t worry if you can’t get to the hairdressers today…. ….You can always catch the highlights later on in the week!
I’m just writing a play about Thomas Edison…. The action takes place before he invented the light bulb, so its going to be a dark piece.
Even though the lockdown is easing, I think we need to be careful. I still don’t feed the pigeons in the park….Some of them could be carriers!!
I’ve always wanted to swop jobs with a window cleaner for a day…It’s on my bucket list.
I know why we don’t see bald eagles….. Because the hairdressers are still closed.
I think social media is ideal for train spotters….Well, it gives them a platform.
I think when we do get back to normal, ventriloquists should be the first acts allowed to perform…Especially if the dummy wears a mask.
Well, I’ve worked out a road map for my career. The only thing is emmm…. I’m in a wee bit of a cul-de-sac at the moment.

Jimmy Cricket got to fulfil the ambition of a lifetime when he visited the legendary Monument Valley in the United States of America.
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is a red-sand desert region on the Arizona-Utah border, known for the towering sandstone hills recognised by their steep sides and flat tops. The park has frequently been a filming location for Western movies.
Jimmy, who visited the valley as part of a holiday in Las Vegas, posted on Facebook: “Well folks! We got to fulfil a life long ambition, to visit, the spectacular, “Monument Valley”, backdrop of the John Wayne, (Director John Ford), films such as, “The Searchers”, “Stagecoach”, on the border of Utah and Arizona with Bob our Navajo Indian guide, in dedication to my oldest brother John who was also a great fan! ?

The famous entertainer kept his friends and fans up to date regularly with his trip on his social media channels.
He and Mrs Cricket were joined during the holiday by their eldest daughter Jamie, who currently works as a deputy headteacher in the Cayman Islands.
Among the shows they watched in Vegas included the Bellagio’s dancing waters and Cirque Du Soleil, at The Mirage, a 3,044-room Polynesian-themed resort and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.

Jimmy Cricket was presented with an Irish-themed cake when he returned to perform at the Billingham Forum Theatre near Middlesbrough.
The famous Belfast-born entertainer appeared in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the North East theatre over the Christmas and New Year period. Sellout crowds watched the pantomime; in fact, the biggest attendances ever for a panto at the venue.
And as he arrived to perform again at the theatre at the start of April, he was greeted with a green cake with a pair of wellingtons on it – Jimmy is renowned in his acts for wearing wellies on the wrong feet!
The cake was made by Stockton resident Yasmin Calvert whose mum, Janet, went to the stage door of the theatre to hand it to Jimmy.
Jimmy said: “I was overjoyed on receiving it as it’s one of the best that anyone has made for me. I was particularly impressed with the detail of the decoration and amazed at how it was produced all in green!
“A big thank you to Yasmin for the efforts she went to in making this culinary delight for me.”
His comedy show was a triumph as almost 400 people came to see Jimmy on his return.
He invited the Heritage Dance School to perform a few numbers during the show and added: “I was very pleased with their efforts as they slotted in really nicely.”
