Andy Eastwood: ‘Another fab show with Jimmy Cricket!’

Jimmy Cricket teamed up again with talented musician Andy Eastwood to provide a 'fab' afternoon of variety entertainment.

Jimmy Cricket teamed up again with talented musician Andy Eastwood to provide a ‘fab’ afternoon of variety entertainment.

The pair starred in Wednesday’s show at Mansfield Theatre, which followed a similar event at the Belgrave Theatre, Coventry, last month.

Andy called it “another fab show with Jimmy Cricket”.

He added: “In the spring we head to Bridlington Spa with him for more fun and laughs.”

And famous funnyman Jimmy said on social media: “What a lovely afternoon for organiser/multiinstrumentalist #andyeastwood alongside the talented opera singers #cherylforbes and #gordoncree and #helenlouiseeastwood.

“Our thanks also to all the wonderful staff at the #palacetheatremansfield for making us all feel so welcome!”

Ever-popular Jimmy celebrates his 80th birthday on 17 October.

And to celebrate, he is having a Big Birthday Bash in aid of charity.

Jimmy heads up a star-studded list of entertainers at The Lowry in Salford on 1 November.

Tickets have sold fast for the event and just a few remain.

Tim Vine, Roy Walker, Barbara Nice, Syd Little and Steve Royle are among the entertainers performing at the Salford venue.

Northern Irish funnyman Adrian Walsh and Jimmy’s daughter, Katie Mulgrew, complete the talented line-up – as well as the birthday boy himself, of course!

Another busy schedule during a special birthday month!

Jimmy Cricket performs at the Mansfield Palace Theatre where he appears on stage along wih musician Andy Eastwood. Jimmy Cricket has a rare weekend off before another busy schedule during which he celebrates a very big birthday!

After no fewer than nine shows in September, the famous funnyman will have a run of six performances in just 18 days during October.

And it’s an extra special month for Jimmy who turns 80 on 17 October!

The first event, on Wednesday 8 October, is the latest in a series of variety gigs Jimmy is doing this summer.

He is at the Mansfield Palace Theatre where he appears on stage along with musician Andy Eastwood.

Other performances include at the Talking Pictures Festival of Film & TV roadshow at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 october.
And on Friday, 24 October, he appears with Tommy Cannon and Mick Miller  in Rule Brit-Ha-nnia at The Joe Longthorne Theatre in Blackpool.
And don’t forget that Jimmy is celebrating his memorable milestone with a Big Birthday Gala Show at The Lowry in Salford.

All the proceeds go to Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Jimmy Cricket is doing a series of variety shows this autumn marking his 80th birthday, culminating in his Big Birthday Bash gala show in November.

Jimmy Cricket is doing two variety shows this autumn to mark his 80th birthday, culminating in a charity gala show in November.

The famous comedian is performing at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry in mid-September.

And then he is at the Mansfield Palace Theatre in early October..

And Jimmy heads up a star-studded list of entertainers at The Lowry in Salford on 1 November.

Musician Andy Eastwood is on stage with Jimmy for the shows in Coventry and Mansfield.

Mansfield Palace Theatre to stage Jimmy’s comedy play

The Mansfield Palace Theatre will next stage the play on Thursday 20 February

Jimmy Cricket’s popular comedy play moves on to Mansfield next.

The Mansfield Palace Theatre will stage No More Fiffing and Faffing tonight (Thursday 20 February) – see all the details in the poster above.

It had a highly successful debut in September 2018 at the Blackburn Empire Theatre.

As a result, Jimmy, 74, has taken the production on a tour around the north of England.

Other venues so far include The Met in Bury and the Chorley Little Theatre in Lancashire.

Veteran comedian Jimmy wrote the play and also stars in it.

The other performers are Jonathan Young (The Bachelors) and actor Colin Meredith, who has appeared in Coronation Street.

Middlesbrough Theatre was the latest destination (Thursday 23 January) for No More Fiffing and Faffing.

Famous entertainer Jimmy, 74, tweeted afterwards: “What a lovely reception for the comedy play from the Teesside welcome last night!

“My thanks to Manager David Lindsey @Mbrotheatre and the technical crew, Andy and Peter who were on sound and lighting, for all their help and support!????

The City Varieties Music Hall will stage the play on Saturday 7 March (see below).
Well-known entertainer Jimmy, 74, tweeted: “Hi Folks! Just to let you know we will be taking our Comedy Play, ‘No More Fiffing and Faffing’, to the beautiful and unique @CityVarieties for a Saturday afternoon matinee show at 2.30pm on the 7th March 2020.”

A wonderful full house afternoon @DudleyBorough Halls with Mark Andrews Productions. Paul was on keyboards and Graham was on drums alongside the fabulous harmonica instrumentalist Johnny Stafford and with the great voice of Linda Watts!

Jimmy Cricket helped to bring back the good old days of variety recently.

The popular Northern Irish comedian guest starred at Dudley Town Hall in the West Midlands on Tuesday (12 March) and at Mansfield Palace Theatre in Nottingham the following day.

Mark Andrews Music Hall was the production company behind the two The Good Old Days of Variety shows.

Jimmy told his thousands of social media fans after the first performance (photo above): “A wonderful full house afternoon Halls with Mark Andrews Productions.
