Jimmy Cricket is a comedy great, with “never an insult or blue joke”.

That’s the view of fellow professional Andy Eastwood ahead of a variety show Jimmy is headlining in Doncaster next month.

Andy is hosting the big event at The Cast theatre in the south Yorkshire town on Tuesday 6 May.

It begins at 1.30pm and tickets are available here.

“Jimmy is one of the greats. Comedy trends have come and gone, but he has stayed true to his style,” says Andy.

The Cast website states: “Jimmy’s amazing career in comedy includes his own TV and radio series, Royal Command performances and even a Papal Knighthood, awarded for his services to charity.

“Joining Jimmy will be our host  Andy Eastwood, with his dazzling array of instruments, and from Scotland, another virtuoso musician, the remarkable, multi-talented Gordon Cree.

“The stunning mezzo-soprano voice of Cheryl Forbes will bring us favourite songs from stage and screen.

“Completing the all-star line-up is the sensational Helen Farrell, with her tribute to the great divas of the sixties!”
