Thanks for great gig & hospitality in Guernsey

A big thank you to Ken Smith and his lovely wife Julia and family @WaysideCheer , (home of the Cabaret entertainment on the Island for decades), for the great gig and for their hospitality and my thanks to David and his Beach Cafe for our light lunches!

Jimmy Cricket and his wife May had another successful and enjoyable visit to the island of Guernsey.

Famous entertainer Jimmy, 73, performed over Easter at the Wayside Cheer Hotel, which is owned by Guernsey entrepreneur Ken Smith.

Jimmy has appeared several times in the past at the hotel, which is located on the bay of Grandes Rocques, the other side of the island from the capital, St Peter Port.

He posted on social media afterwards: “A big thank you to Ken Smith and his lovely wife Julia and family @WaysideCheer, (home of the Cabaret entertainment on the Island for decades), for the great gig and for their hospitality and my thanks to David and his Beach Cafe for our light lunches! ”

Guernsey hotel: Easter shows are both sellouts

Jimmy Cricket enjoyed two fantastic Easter shows at the Wayside Cheer Hotel on the island of Guernsey.

The famous entertainer’s appearances on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday were both in front of packed houses at the hotel, which is owned by local Guernsey entrepreneur Ken Smith.

Jimmy has appeared on the island on several occasions in the past and every visit has been promoted by Ken. This latest trip was for the 71-year-old comedian to present his stand-up comedy show.

The hotel is located on the bay of Grandes Rocques, which is on the other side of the island from the capital St Peter Port.

Jimmy said: “I am a huge fan of Guernsey and always enjoy my trips to the island.

“And given the fact my first scheduled appearance for Easter Saturday sold so well that an additional show had to be arranged for the following night, it all made the trip on this occasion even more magical for me!”

Guernsey: Extra show for the Wayside Cheer Hotel

An extra show has been added for Jimmy Cricket’s Easter weekend visit to Guernsey – by popular demand!

There has been such a level of interest in his appearance at the Wayside Cheer Hotel on Saturday 15 April that it is now virtually sold out, so with still six weeks to go an extra show has been added on to Jimmy’s schedule.

It means the famous entertainer, 71, is now due to perform not just on Easter Saturday, but also following night as well at the same venue.

Jimmy has not been on the island for more than five years when he was last at the Wayside Cheer Hotel.

Guernsey event will be a part of Easter mini-break

Jimmy Cricket will be spending Easter on the beautiful island of Guernsey as he heads there for an appearance at the Wayside Cheer Hotel.

Guernsey, part of the Channel Islands which also includes Jersey, Alderney and Sark, is a place that Jimmy is very fond of as he has been there several times in the past.

The famous entertainer, 71, has performed at shows organised and promoted by his good friend Ken Smith.

Ken has always been one of the island’s main promoters as well as being a prominent local businessman. He often used the Wayside Cheer as one of his venues and liked it so much he decided to buy it! Jimmy’s last few visits have been to appear in cabaret in the hotel’s restaurant area.

His forthcoming show will be on Easter Saturday (15 April) at the Wayside Cheer but, as Jimmy likes the island so much, he is making more of this visit and will stay four nights at the hotel as part of a mini-break.

Jimmy Cricket’s 2017 schedule includes Tenerife & Guernsey trips

We may only be in the autumn of 2016, but famous comedian Jimmy Cricket already has some exciting plans lined up for next year.

His schedule early in 2017 will include some overseas trips, which he says he is “especially looking forward to”.

After concluding his pantomime commitments in Leeds city centre (he will be the special guest in a seasonal production of the classic fairytale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the White Rose Theatre), the 70-year-old entertainer will be in Tenerife at the start of the year.

He flies off to the Canary Island where on Thursday 12 January he will appear at the SkyBar. Tickets are already mostly sold out, but for more information please visit here.

Then at Easter, Jimmy will visit the Channel Islands and the beautiful location of Guernsey where he returns to the Wayside Cheer Hotel (above right).

This is a venue owned by Jimmy’s friend, Ken Smith, and he has appeared there several times in the past, but it has been a few years since his last visit. Jimmy’s appearance will be on Easter Saturday (15 April). More information can be found at the Wayside Cheer Hotel website.

And the Belfast-born comic will be returning to the world of cruise ships during the summer of 2017 when he stars in shows on an Irish-themed voyage for Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
