Teddy bear’s picnic in Bury in aid of charity

Teddy bear's picnicJimmy Cricket helped to raise money to buy teddies for sick children in hospital recently.

The famous entertainer, 71, opened a fund-raising summer fayre – called the Teddy Bear’s Picnic – which took place at Hewlett Court in Bury, Greater Manchester, and was sponsored by the Freemasons.

Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as a Masonic retirement home for the elderly. The home belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC].

It is situated in Holcombe Brook on the north side of Bury near the foot of Holcombe Hill.
