Daniel O’Donnell reunion delights Jimmy Cricket
Jimmy Cricket was delighted to be reunited with famous Irish singer and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Daniel O’Donnell recently.
Every year, the Daniel O’Donnell North of England supporters’ association organise a weekend where they come together at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Blackburn.
On the first night the association organises a dance and on the second they host a dinner which is attended by Daniel himself.
The organiser of this event, Bernie Doherty, has been arranging these annual get togethers for 20 years and for the last 15 Daniel (pictured right and above with Jimmy) has attended the formal dinner on the second night.
Comedian Jimmy, 71, said: “This year’s dinner saw 300 guests in attendance and I was invited to provide a bit of light relief after the dining part of the evening [below].
“This was before the band struck up the musical part of the evening, which involved Daniel getting up and joining in on a few numbers! Then it was for all present to put on their dancing shoes until the wee small hours.”
Popular Irish entertainer Jimmy added: “I was delighted to renew acquaintances again with Daniel whom I last saw last September at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool.”
