Raising funds for Lancashire church roof

Jimmy Cricket helped to raise funds for a new roof for a 100-year-old church in Lancashire.

Jimmy CricketEntertainer Dave PrenticeThe famous comedian, 71, performed at the parish hall of St Nicholas Church, which stands on an exposed hillside location above the Ribble Valley village of Sabden. Dave Prentice (right) also took to the stage to entertain the audience.

Jimmy said: “A thank-you goes to Reverend Jonathan Carmyllie and Bernard who organised the event.”

St Nicholas Parish Church is part of the Church of England. Its charitable objectives include responding to human need, a concern for social justice and proclaiming the Gospel.

Jimmy Cricket paid a recent visit to St William Walderslade in Chatham, one of three churches within the Parish of Holy Trinity in the county of Kent.

The famous funnyman, 71, appeared on 2 July as part of the church’s 2016 series of art cafés to do a show for Reverends Nathan Ward and Elaine Cranmer, with Clive (all pictured above with Jimmy) on sound!

The parish is a partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church, sometimes called a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP). It seeks to serve the communities of Blue Bell Hill, Lordswood and Walderslade in South Chatham.
