The show at the Astor Theatre was co-promoted by a man called Phil Hoyles (above), who performs a tribute to the late Tommy Cooper and did a great job in helping to make the event take place.

Both Phil and Jimmy were joined on stage by the top comedian’s wife, the female vocalist May Marion, and dancers from the Deal Academy of Performing Arts (right).

The dance school is based at the Astor Theatre and their director Sarah Dean did a great job choreographing her bunch of enthusiastic dancers for the show.

Famous entertainer Jimmy, 70, said: “Special praise goes to the theatre’s manager James Tillit.

“In all of my years performing in theatres up and down the length and breadth of the UK, he is the first manager who not only volunteered, but physically helped me bring into the theatre’s back stage area all of his equipment for the evening’s show. This did not go unnoticed!”
