Jimmy Cricket takes his laughter tour to the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight

Jimmy Cricket takes his laughter tour to the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight at the weekend.

The popular Northern Irish comedian performs at the Greendale Road venue on Sunday 14 April.

The 73-year-old entertainer says he has had shows at the theatre many times over the years and that he was “looking forward to coming back”.

He told the WirralGlobe: “The theatre is in a beautiful village and every time I visit, it’s like stepping back in time when I visit.

“Mind you, some people would say it’s like stepping back in time when they hear my jokes.”

Port Sunlight is a model village and suburb in the metropolitan borough of Wirral, Merseyside.

The Jimmy Cricket Laughter Show takes place on Sunday 9 December at 8pmJimmy Cricket will host one of his comedy shows at a football club in the West Country in December.

The famous entertainer will be performing at Axminster Town FC, which is based in Devon.

Organiser Alan West,  himself a country singer, songwriter and performer, said: “My buddy Jimmy Cricket is heading our way in December…..One of the funniest chaps I think I’ve ever met….Tickets are limited and available now.”

In response to Alan’s post on social media channel Facebook, Rich May commented: “Great guy Alan. Never swears or uses bad language but such a funny guy enjoy the night ?.”

And Sandra King said: “Remember him at Seaton!! 2 tickets may need 4! XX”

Jimmy Cricket returned to St Sebastian’s Community Centre in Salford to do a show along with his old friend and singer Keith Swift.

Keith SwiftThe centre, which is at Douglas Green, is a community resource managed
by a small group of volunteers, which provides a range of
opportunities and services for local people. A variety of community activities are offered by the centre, including health and fitness, arts and care support groups.

Said Jimmy: “Thanks to Gerry who organised the event and the team of helpers who supplied the buffet and  who worked behind the bar area!”

Keith (left), who is known professionally as Jonathan Swift, is a dynamic vocalist who does a Frank Sinatra tribute act. Visit his website here.

He has performed several shows with Catherine Tyldesley (who plays Eva Price in Coronation Street and is an outstanding singer in herself), including a private party for Mr Manchester United himself, Sir Alex Ferguson, and makes regular appearances on The Jimmy Cricket Laughter Show with the long-time favourite Northern Irish comedian.
