Jimmy Cricket received a great reception when he appeared at the Mill Brow Social Club in Widnes, Cheshire, at the beginning of October.

The famous entertainer’s 70th birthday was not until 17 October, but everyone at the show helped him to kick off the celebrations early.

Special mention should be given the manager of the club, Vic, who helped to organise this appearance for Jimmy.

In fact, this was a return visit from Jimmy as he was at the Mill Brow during the spring of 2014 and made such a great impression that it was quickly agreed with Vic he should go back 18 months later.

The crowd who went to see Jimmy gave him a rousing standing ovation at the end.
