NEW DVD LAUNCHED

Welcome everybody to this version of the newsletter when I update all visitors on the fast paced world of Jimmy Cricket!

I am very excited to be able to at last announce the release of my new Stand up DVD that is entitled “Jimmy Cricket Live - Pull Your Seats Forward.” Rhe cover of the DVD is displayed below.

DVD

It has taken a long time to get here, and I know some of you were hoping that I may have been able to get it out earlier. But the work that goes into making such a product has meant that the DVD has taken a little longer to produce than even I had anticipated. That said, I am really proud of this quality product and I am sure you will be equally pleased when you see a copy. The DVD will be priced at a very reasonable £12, and this will include postage and packaging.

For those of you who wish to purchase a copy, this can be done through two ways: one is to go through to our online shopping facility on this website, and this is facilitated by PayPal. Customers wishing to buy the DVD through this route will need a credit card, unless you are an existing customer of Paypal.

The alternative is for those of you who wish to purchase through the post. The address for you to send cheques to is: Wellie Boot Productions, P.O. Box 332, Rochdale, Lancashire, OL12 7WD. Cheques should be made payable to Wellie Boot Productions.!

SUMMER SEASON 20101 PLANS ANNOUNCEDSummertime Special 2010 A4

I am pleased to report that I will be returning to Clacton-On-Sea for the 2010 summer season.

I had a very enjoyable and memorable summer season in Clacton four years ago, and I am really thrilled to be going back. The 2010 season encompasses the main six week school holiday, and the schedule that will be followed will see shows arranged for every Wednesday and Thursday.

The production will see me team up once more with That’s Entertainment Productions and it is always a real treat when I work with the company’s CO-producers - Chris Gidney and Michael Wooldridge.

They certainly know how to present a coulorful and sparkling evening of quality entertainment.

I would encourage everyone to get down and see the show, as it is entertainment that you cannot watch these days on the television - we all need to keep live entertainment going!

News Round up - Part 1

We start with a very special civic occasion that was organised to celebrate the life of Harry Goowin, who has been one of the leading photographer’s that this country has produced over the last few decades. Harry was given the Freedom of the city of Manchester just before Christmas, a fitting and richly deserving accolade for a man who has been at the forefront of his profession for may years. This has seen Harry photograph many famous faces during his distinguished career, including the display at Liverpool John Lennon Airport that exhibits the photos Harry took of the Beatles during their hey day in the 1960s.

The event was organised by the BBC Radio producer and good friend of mine, Steve Garner, and he also is a leading organiser of the Variety Club in the North West. This celebration had the likes of sir Alex Ferguson, Ken Dodd and the Lord Mayor of Manchester in attendance. In the first photo I am with Steve, Harry and Ken Dodd. In the below photos I am with other guests who had also been invited.

Below is Sir Alex, who has been snapped by Harry in the past, and an ex world boxing champion. Big thank you to photographer Michael Collins for the use of these images.

Next onto a Christmas show I did last December at the Shanklin Theatre on the Isle of Wight. The show was produced by my good friend Vic Farrow.

As part of the cast Vic had arranged for a duo to play the music, and I am deeply grateful to Tim the drummer who supplied the following snaps of the show.

The show also featured by good lady, Mrs Cricket, who sang a few festive numbers. Also, as you can see from the finale shots below, the show had a great cast list which included the Hilary Hall Dancers, the Nicola Bailey School of Voice, and the velevt tones of male vocalist, Terry James.

In January I appeared as part of a new venture at the Cuda Comedy Club. Normally they have their usual comedy nights featuring the best in cutting edge comedy, but Martin Davies has decided to branch out and promote a Legends night at the Baracuda Club in Hull. The flier below was for the launch night, and this is a really interesting venture, for which I wish them all the very best. I’d even be interested in making a return visit very shortly!

News Round up 2

March12March11

We start this final round up with a trip I made to my son’s college in Durham to perform at a charity event that he had organised at the College’s in house theatre. My son, Frank, is training to be a Priest at Ushaw College, outside Durham, and he invited myself, BBC Radio Newcastle’s Alfie Joe (who is a very good personal friend of Franks) and his fellow students and lecturers to perform their party pieces at this concert. The theatre was packed to the rafters, and his expertise at being a very experienced organiser really showed, as not only did the show go off really smoothly, but the theatre was full, even on a Monday night! The money raised went to a couple of worthwhile charities.

Onto a New Year’s concert I did at the Welshpool Town Hall for my good friend Alan Crowe.

My thanks to Phil Blagg who took this photograph.

March13

Onto The Mike Allen Variety Show held at Lutterworth College at the beginning of December.

From left to right…  Phil Hinde (student), Vikki , Helen and Mickey.

Onto a charity benefit I performed at for the Animals In Need Sanctuary in Knowsley. The concert was at the Eldonian Hall in Liverpool and was organised by my good friend Bill Lees.

March29March28

Here I am with Barry Smith, who I met at the BAWA club, in Bristol, during February.

March30

Finally, we end with my visit to Italy during the February half term holiday. I went with my wife and my son, Frank, and you will never guess where I ended up below?...Go on, where do you think I am?...

March31

There we have it, folks - please check back at the beginning of May, when I will have news on my return to Pantomime for the first time in three years, which is really exciting! As well as much more to report back to you about from all the live shows I will be doing over the next couple of months!

Bye for now!

Jimmy
