Famous entertainer Jimmy Cricket appeared at a fundraising event in Orrell near Wigan earlier this month.
The event, held at St James’ Social Centre (above) in the town, had been organised to raise money for Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
The organiser of the evening was locally based Francis Mernagh. Jimmy, 71, had appeared at fundraisers Francis has been involved with in the past and this was another hugely successful occasion.
“This is because Francis did a great job organising the entertainment, getting the venue arranged and selling a fabulous amount of tickets for the event, so there was a great atmosphere and this meant the fundraising activities were a success,” said Jimmy.
Alongside Jimmy were a couple of male vocal performances who ensured a good standard of entertainment throughout the night.
Jimmy added: “I was really pleased to have participated in this event and help raise a total of £1,100 for this worthy cause.”
