Jimmy Cricket has attended the wedding of a friend who worked on one of his musicals.
Phil Reynolds got married to Jo in late July with the service taking place at Manchester Cathedral during the afternoon, and both the wedding breakfast and evening celebration hosted by Crimble Hall in Rochdale.
Phil, who is based in Heywood in the borough of Rochdale, and Jimmy have come to know one another well over the past few years.
They worked together on one of Jimmy’s musicals, Maloney’s Big Moment, with Phil taking on the role of musical director for the inaugural performance of the show at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn in 2013.
This was after Jimmy had bumped into Phil at an event where the choir he was leading at the time consisted of carers based in the Rochdale area.
Since then, they have continued to keep in touch and Jimmy and Mrs Cricket were delighted to accept Phil’s wedding invitation.
Jimmy, 70, said: “It was nice to be able to wish the happy couple in person many good wishes for their life ahead together.”
